Further details

Landbeach  The Parish Council is organising regular one-hour long events on the third Saturday afternoon each month.  They hope to co-operate with Milton Parish on the road which connects the two villages.  Any offers of help would be appreciated.  Please contact Parish Clerk (Mrs Maria Sylvester, mariasylvester@botmail.co.uk) for further details of time and meeting place.

Foxton:  Steve Bentinck (chair of recreation and Amenities, Foxton Parish Council)  reported that volunteers met on Saturday and Sunday 12 and 13 June 2010 and followed each 3-hour session with a drink and a sausage sandwich in the White Horse!   Some of the areas that the volunteers covered were:

A10 from Shepreth to the Q8 garage

All areas within the village

The woods on Foxton Hill

The areas around the station

The Village Hall Car Park.

They thanked the two major sponsors – Jon Lewis Plc and The Towlands Trust and other sponsors: Scotsdales Garden Centre, Tesco, Boots, Waitrose, and Mike Hellowell of CPRE.  Steve thanked the 70 or so people who joined in and worked very hard to make the village a better place.  They all got to meet new friends and everyone went home happy!

Ickleton: Villagers in Ickleton volunteered as part of The Big Society to clean their own village on Sunday 22 May 2011. The event was supported by many local children who took time out from a birthday party to help and then rushed back missing the photo.  12 full bags of rubbish were collected in an hour. Equipment was kindly supplied by CPRE and the event was supported by The Parish Council and The Ickleton Society who provided tea and cakes for the volunteers in the village hall.
