CPRE responds to King’s Speech

The King’s Speech delivered on 7th October confirmed an intended Bill supporting annual licences for oil and gas extraction in the North Sea, though there was a lack of demonstrable commitment to renewables in the race to net zero. Update on amendment voted through by House of Lords on national planning policy

In September 2023 we reported that the House of Lords had voted through an amendment that ensured both the public and parliament have a say on any new national planning policy created by the Levelling Up and Regeneration Bill (LURB).
