Volunteer Roles

CPRE Cambridgeshire and Peterborough Rooftop Solar Champions

We’re looking for Rooftop Solar Champions in Cambridgeshire and Peterborough.  As a volunteer Rooftop Solar Champion your role would involve writing to your MP on behalf of CPRE Cambridgeshire; telling your local authority about the campaign and asking them to adopt solar panels on warehouse roofs as a policy; and liaising with local action groups to pass on information about the campaign and collect examples of “good” rooftop and “bad” ground solar projects.  It’s a great way to become more involved with CPRE’s work.  Interested?  For more information contact Tracey Hipson at administrator2@cprecambs.org.uk.

Planning Volunteer, CPRE Cambridgeshire and Peterborough

If you are interested in protecting our Cambridgeshire and Peterborough countryside, then join us!  We’re looking for a volunteer to help us monitor and respond to planning applications and consultations in our county.

Ideally you should have an interest in the countryside and an understanding, ideally as a result of professional experience, of the planning system.  You will be supported and supervised by the Branch Committee, induction training will be provided by National CPRE and you will have the opportunity to attend other training and events as appropriate.

This role is home-based and the time commitment is 2-3 hours per week.

All activities are voluntary, although we will pay all out-of-pocket expenses with prior agreement, in line with our Volunteer Policy.

For further information or to have an informal chat about the role please contact Jo McGowan, initially by e-mail at office@cprecambs.org.uk.  More information about the role can be found here
